About the project

Travel, commuting, or even short breaks often leave us with sore necks and restless moments. Traditional neck pillows only cushion, but they don’t adapt to how our bodies naturally move. MORA changes that.

MORA is a smart neck pillow designed to sense the user’s head position. When the pillow detects the head leaning to one side, it’ll gently raise that side to support the cheek and neck, preventing discomfort or strain. With a soft, minimal aesthetic and subtle smart functions, MORA creates an effortless experience of comfort in motion.

More than a pillow, MORA is a travel companion that protects your posture, supports your rest, and helps you wake refreshed—wherever you are.

- Design Criteria -

As global tourism continues to grow, getting quality rest while traveling has become an overlooked design challenge.

At MORA, we believe comfort shouldn’t stop when you’re on the move. That’s why we designed a pillow that travels the way you do — adapting, supporting, and wrapping you in calm no matter where your journey takes you.

Shaped in our signature C-curve, the pillow gently hugs your neck, creating a cloud of comfort that feels just right for you. Inside, a built-in sensor and adaptive support system work quietly to sense your posture and adjust the pillow’s shape in real time — keeping your head supported and your neck pressure-free.

Because everyone rests differently, MORA learns to move with you — giving every traveler their own perfect way to drift off.

- Packaging Design -

Initially, the packaging exploration focused on reducing the pillow’s volume through compression or transforming it into a reusable carrying pouch to enhance portability during travel.

However, the neck pillow’s internal metal support structure—essential to its adaptive functionality—cannot be compressed without compromising performance. User interviews also revealed that an additional carrying pouch would likely go unused, as most users preferred to rely on the removable, washable pillowcase rather than storing the pillow in another layer.

In response to these constraints and the product’s premium positioning, the packaging strategy shifted from space efficiency to experience design.

The final direction reframes the packaging as an influencer kit that emphasizes unboxing, storytelling, and perceived value—positioning the neck pillow as a thoughtful travel object from the very first interaction.
